I’ve worked on myriad projects with the GTM & Partnership teams in the Kyndryl Digital Workplace Services unit, but this one was one of my favorites.

The ask? Capture a discussion to discuss the future of managed IT solutions and reinforce the partnership between Riverbed and Kyndryl to help customers get there. Did I mention everyone was dispersed geographically? We decided to film in NYC to take advantage of existing business travel plans.

Here’s what I provided:

  • a full pre-production process with story outlines, location scouting and shoot logistics
  • 1/2 day of filming in the Lower East Side of Manhattan with a local crew
  • video editing and sound mix
  • output of long and short form videos for web and organic channel placement

The shoot day was simple:

  1. I show up with the crew at the rented studio space
  2. crew sets the gear up while I prep the talent and client
  3. have breakfast ready for everyone as they arrived
  4. methodically work our way through the story outline while capturing engaging insight

The only thing in our way were those NYC sirens! We were out by early afternoon, and I was on a train back to Boston.

Post production was also straightforward. I created the long “master” version, and working with the 2 teams, I made a series of shorter clips framed for various social platforms.

This project was a great example of something that can seem daunting, but broken down into simple phases, can be done efficiently and economically despite the travel.
